Education and Organizational Development Director Named

Jacksonville, Florida, July 9, 2008 – Jo-Ann Byrne, RN, BS, MHSA, has been named Director of Education and Organizational Development for St. Vincent's HealthCare, effective June 16, 2008.

In her new role at SVHC, Byrne's responsibilities includes administrative management of the Education and Organizational Development department, which provides diabetes education, wound care management, library services, audio-visual and meeting support services, clinical support and education services, career path development, e-learning technology and management education for all SVHC entities.

Byrne most recently served as Director of Healthcare Education for the past five years for Wuesthoff Health System, a two-hospital system in Rockledge, FL. She served as a Senior Manager with Deloitte Consulting Group assisting clients with process improvement and cost savings initiatives. She also worked with Booz, Allen and Hamilton as a Senior Consultant facilitating client teams in reducing wait times, increasing patient satisfaction and developing training materials.

Byrne has a Master's degree in Health Service Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL, and has served as a Lieutenant with the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. From 2006-2007, Byrne served as president of the Florida Society for Healthcare Education and Training. Additionally, she co-authored the book "The Successful Leadership Development Program," which was published in 2006.
