Dave and Mary Pat Kulik Donate New Chapel to St. Luke's Hospital

Aug. 26, 2008 Jacksonville, FL – Dave and Mary Pat Kulik made a generous investment in the mission of St. Vincent's HealthCare (SVHC) by donating a beautiful new Eucharistic chapel at St. Luke's Hospital, which joined St. Vincent's HealthCare in April. The chapel's stained glass windows will welcome all who enter the main doors of St. Luke's.

The beautiful legacy of faith will seat 50 and will be open to people of all faiths. A variety of services, including Catholic mass, will be offered to patients, families, physicians, employees and visitors. Those seeking solitude will find the chapel to be a place of comfort and hope.

"This gift from Dave and Mary Pat reflects the values I have always seen evident in their lives," says Jane Lanier, Sr. Vice President, St. Vincent's HealthCare Foundation. "They are sharing their blessings with those they might never know."

"It is exciting that the first gift to St. Luke's extends the spiritual aspect of St. Vincent's mission to the Southside and Beaches areas," says Scott Whalen, President and CEO St. Vincent's HealthCare.

The Kuliks said, "We are so pleased and humbled to provide this gift to St. Luke's Hospital to build the new chapel and thank God for all of our family's blessings. We hope that all employees, patients, families and friends will find peace and comfort there." Dave Kulik, retired as global CEO of Amsterdam NV-based CEVA Logistics earlier this year, serves on the board of St. Vincent's HealthCare Foundation, the board of the Jacksonville Port Authority and is Vice Chairman of the Jacksonville International Business Coalition.

The Kuliks have long supported local and international organizations including St. Vincent's Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Women's Help Center, The Second Harvest Food Bank and The World Food Program. They have been residents of the Jacksonville area since 1984 and are active members of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
