Dr. Capasso has been practicing internal medicine in the area since 1997. After graduating from the University of Alabama’s School of Medicine, Birmingham, Capasso completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida, Jacksonville campus. After graduation, Dr. Capasso worked as an Associate Medical Professor for the University of Florida and was the first Associate Medical Director for Haven Hospice, an organization he is still actively involved with.

In 1998, the Ohio native became Board Certified in Internal Medicine and entered into private practice. Dr. Capasso currently serves on the board of Physicians Preferred Malpractice Insurance Company and is the Medical Director for the Jacksonville Division of Smart for Life Weight Management Clinics.

Capasso says he was motivated to join First Coast Primary Care "because of the quality of the physicians in the group and their ability to get patients’ needs met."

The First Coast Primary Care board of directors continues to expand its network of physicians providing care in neighborhoods throughout the Jacksonville area. The physician governed group shares common administrative policies, but each physician makes clinical decisions about treatment of patients and retains control over day to day issues like staffing and purchasing decisions and overhead costs.
