Red Rose Ball: SVHC Foundation Presents The Art Of Imagery

Jacksonville, FL, Feb. 17, 2009 — St. Vincent's HealthCare Foundation held its annual Red Rose Ball on February 6, 2009.  The theme for the 2009 Red Rose Ball was The Art of Imagery.

This year's event beneficiary was the St. Luke's Patient/Family Imaging Waiting Center.  This Center of Excellence will welcome patients and their families who are having inpatient imaging procedures, as well as those who are scheduled for pre-admission testing for surgeries.  Its state-of-the-art technology includes a wide variety of services for women's health such as digital mammography, diagnostic mammography, and stereotactic imaging.   The Center also provides bone density testing for early detection of osteoporosis.

The black-tie event at the Jacksonville Marriott at Southpoint was a sell out with nearly 500 people attending.  The night began with cocktails at 7 p.m. followed by dinner and dancing until 1 a.m. with music provided by KTG Musical Entertainment.  Both the silent and live auctions helped increase the proceeds for the event, which in total raised more than a quarter of a million dollars.  A major donor purchased the live auction item that characterized the event's theme, The Art of Imagery.  Two copies of x-ray roses created by local artist Elisa Olderman Johnson was auctioned off to the highest bidder.  One copy was given to the winning bidder and the other copy will be on display in the St. Luke's Patient/Family Imaging Waiting Center.

The 2009 Red Rose Ball was chaired by: Bryan and Leigh Fogle, Anne and Childress Lee and Nuni and Dr. Paul Rebenack. The honorary chairs were Dr. and Mrs. Harry W. Reinstine, Jr.

The Title Sponsor was Wachovia, and Presenting Sponsors were Bacardi Bottling Company and Premier Beverage.  For more information about the 2009 Red Rose Ball, contact Janie K. Smalley, St. Vincent's HealthCare Foundation, Donor Services Specialist, at (904) 296-4033.
